Bronze-tone spelter decorative figurine featuring a rearing horse with rider. This is a reproduction of Marly Horses by Guillaume Coustou. Not sure when this was made but was possibly c. 1970s or 80s but could be earlier.
Mounted on a circular base with ornamental edges.
Ideal for mantel, shelf, or entryway styling.
A striking accent piece for equestrian and classical decor.
Size shown in the photos
In excellent vintage condition. There is a small nick to the wooden base which is shown in one photo but does not detract from the overall look
Spelter is an alloy primarily made of zinc, or a mixture of zinc and lead, historically used as a cheaper, lightweight substitute for bronze in casting statues and decorative objects. Because it is soft, brittle, and has a low melting point, it mimics bronze but is much more fragile
